Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH), known as Lye or Caustic Soda is used for soap making, along with making detergents and cleaners. Our Lye is 99% Sodium Hydroxide in small pellet form. It is highly caustic and care should be taken with storage and handling.

Warning: Harmful if inhaled or swallowed. Handle with extreme caution. Can cause severe burns and eye damage. Please see MSDS here

Precautionary Statements: Wear protective gloves/protective clothing, eye, and respiratory protection. Do not breathe dust, vapours.

Wash exposed skin thoroughly after handling. Avoid release to the environment. Wear eye protection, face protection, protective clothing, protective gloves.

IF SWALLOWED: Rinse mouth. Do NOT induce vomiting. Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor

IF ON SKIN (or hair): Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower with soap.

IF INHALED: Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing.

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor
